Porsche PCM repair, from PCM 2 to Cayenne PCM 4.0
Cracked PCM touchscreens, PCM 3.1 hard drive failures, and Cayenne PCM units built on the same platform all get a full bench repair here, plus SSD upgrades, CarPlay, and Bose amp work.
Chapter 01
PCM 2 through PCM 4.0, and Cayenne PCM
Porsche's PCM head units run navigation, audio, and phone through one touchscreen, and PCM 2, 2.1, 3, 3.1, and 4.0 each fail in their own particular way. The most common failure walks through our door already cracked, a shattered touchscreen like the PCM pictured here, still in the customer's own dash. Glass splits from a hard knock, a phone mount that got dropped once too often, or just age, and once it goes, touch input drops out in patches or quits entirely.
PCM 3.1 has a second failure path that has nothing to do with the screen: the internal hard drive. It spins up the navigation maps and the media library, and after enough years it starts to click on boot, hang, or drop out mid-drive. Cayenne PCM units, built on the same architecture, fail the same two ways. If you're not sure which generation you're holding, call us at 201-773-0976 and we can usually tell from the symptoms alone.

SSD upgrades, CarPlay, and hard-wired Bluetooth
Once a PCM 3.1 is already open for a screen or drive repair, most owners take the chance to move off the original hard drive for good. We swap it for a solid-state drive, which removes that failure point and speeds up boot and map load at the same time. PCM 3.0 and 3.1 units can also gain Apple CarPlay and a reverse camera, wired into the factory screen instead of bolted on top of it.
Older CR and CDR head units, specifically the CR210, CDR210, CDR23, and CDR24, take a hard-wired Bluetooth retrofit for $125. It's a module wired in behind the factory faceplate, not a clip-on adapter plugged into the cigarette lighter, so the stock radio keeps its original look and every original button.
Chapter 03
Bose amp repair, Euro speakers, and shipping it in
Porsche's factory Bose amplifiers fail the way most factory amps do: a channel drops out, static creeps in under load, or the unit goes silent altogether. We repair them on the bench instead of telling you to replace the whole system. For the 911, 914, 356, and 924, we also stock Euro-size speakers built to the smaller factory opening those cars use, which most domestic speaker stock simply doesn't fit.
Every repair that leaves our bench here in Saddle Brook carries our standard 1-year limited warranty, and turnaround runs 7 to 10 business days once we have the unit in hand. Ship it to us domestically or internationally, with the repair form from our shipping page inside the box, and we'll send it back insured.
